Model United Nations
Model United Nations (Model UN) is a prestigious educational project for high school students from all over the Czech Republic with a tradition of fourteen years. It provides students with the highest quality, most professionally run simulation of the United Nations. They become familiar with the world of diplomacy and the striking issues which are being handled by the international community. Participating in Model UN, students step into the shoes of diplomats. Six committees are designed to cover a wide range of topics, which would satisfy students' individual interests.
The following bodies are represented in the Model UN:
- Security Council (UNSC)
- Economical and Social Council (ECOSOC)
- Human Rights Council (HRC)
- United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
- United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
- World Trade Organization (WTO)
Our aims
True to the spirit of the United Nations, we strive to foster a free and democratic
society in the Czech Republic by educating young people. In particular, we place emphasis on
- enhancing students’ interest in international affairs
- deepening their knowledge in the respective field
- improving their rhetorical and communication skills
- developing their argumentation and critical thinking
